Overthinking about anything will destroy you and negatively affect your brain. And you don’t want that to happen to you, do you?

So here are some easy-breezy and effective ways to stop overthinking everything.

Calm yourself up.

The first thing that you need to do when you feel yourself drowning in the toxic thought cycle is to calm yourself up.

You need to take a few deep breaths and try to get out of that cycle.

It’s easier said than done, yes but you need to give it your best shot.

Those thoughts will try to come back but you need to build a door around yourself and not give those thoughts the key to your brain.

DON’T OVERTHINK IT!

Stop Overthinking.

Focus on your thoughts.

The next thing that you need to do is to become a spectator of your thoughts. Try to see from a distance what they are bringing to you.

I know they are unpleasant and you want to get rid of them asap but you need to focus here. Listen to them.

Analyse them.

Once you give them attention, try to understand where they are all coming from.

Are these thoughts from your past/present/future?

Once you know where they are from, it becomes easier to deal with them.

Control them.

If they are from the past, you know they are not important. The past is gone. You shouldn’t be worrying about something that is over.

And to worry about the future when it doesn’t even exist is not such a great idea.

Remind yourself that the present moment is a gift. It’s all in your hands to make it the best time for yourself or the worst.

THE POWER IS IN YOU.

Now that you know what to do when some toxic thought strikes you, there are some things you can do to AVOID them.

Distract Yourself

The best way to come out of that dark zone is to distract yourself with something sparkly, fresh and bright.

Here is a list of things you can do:

  • Take a walk in nature.
  • Go out for a coffee date.
  • Call your best friend.
  • Paint something.
  • Play outdoors.

Write your thoughts

Well, if you know me, you knew this was coming because writing your thoughts makes sense. When you write, all your senses become active.

It has a similar reaction to it when you share your thoughts with someone.

So if you don’t feel like talking to someone about it, you talk to YOURSELF about it through writing.

Take a nap

I know, some of us when going through such a situation are not able to sleep, but if you can. Please, go ahead.

Don’t waste any of your energy on doing something that will not bring any luck to you.

At last, I would say, whatever you think about, you bring about. So if you don’t want anything negative to happen to you, then stop having those thoughts and if they come just KICK THEM OUT, GIRL!!!
