Who doesn’t want to smell beautiful? But not everybody smells beautiful. The reasons could be several from not applying it correctly to not choosing an appropriate fragrance for your body.

But you don’t have to worry if your perfumes last all day or not if you follow a few rules!

Honestly, I have worked at one of the Shoppers’ Drugmart in Canada as a Beauty Representative and I know what steps can really make you feel confident about the way you smell.

So let’s get started!

#1 Drink more water

I know you must be thinking I am crazy. Like dude- what’s the connection between drinking water and making perfume last long?

So the reason why experts feel that this is a key step is that it helps you get rid of toxins from your body through sweating. This makes your body clean and fresh from the inside.

And you are very well aware of the fact what goes inside, comes outside.

#2 Apply moisturiser

Always, I repeat ALWAYS apply a moisturiser before putting on any mists or perfumes.

A good moisturiser will hydrate your skin perfectly and will be able to hold perfume for a long time than your dry skin ever can.

#3 Use Petroleum Jelly

Yup! That’s true!! Vaseline can be of great help.

Just apply it before putting on your favourite scent and feel the magic.

This would stop you from doing your regular touch-ups and help you keep your expensive perfumes stay long.

#3 Apply oils

Likewise to lotions and potions, oils can also make the perfume last long as they contain the same active ingredients.

Therefore before getting on to putting your favourite scent, apply some oil on the regions where you are going to spray some perfume.

#4 Use the same set

Do you ever wonder why a brand sells a pack of moisturisers, mists and perfumes?

That’s because a combination of similarly scented products performs wonderfully on your body.

You can also try adding deodorants, hand creams and foot creams alongside to retain more of the fragrance.

#5 Never rub the perfume

I have seen so many people doing this. Even I myself used to do this when I was a teen.

But babes, this is not making your perfume/ cologne stay. Instead its making it fade away quickly.

#6 Apply on the right regions

Now, the next thing you need to be very careful about is putting your scent onto the pulse points.

For example, your neck and neckline, back of the ears, and inner elbows.

Some people don’t apply their scent on their lower body and hence smell half-good. To smell nicely throughout your body, apply to your ankles and the back of your knees.

Believe me, you are going to get heads over heels for yourself if you do so.

#7 Put some on your hairbrush

Most people do this incorrectly and are unable to see the results.

You see, perfumes aren’t meant for the hair but the body because most of them contain alcohol that damages your hair.

But you don’t wanna damage your hair, do you? No right!

So make sure to lightly spray some of the perfume on your hairbrush so that your hair is not affected negatively and you are able to retain your favourite scent as well.

Following even a few of these steps can help your perfume last longer.

Thankyou for reading this post. I hope it was helpful.
