I know our skin can sometimes be more annoying than our boyfriends. But I have found the key to all our skin problems. It’s a moisturiser. I know you can’t believe it but it is what it is.

Honestly, I never took moisturisers seriously, but now that I have seen how magically effective it is, I just can’t put them away. I mean it, seriously!

Believe me, if you try it, you’ll be head over heels for it.

Let’s talk more about its benefits and how it works in the following paragraphs.

What is a moisturiser?

In simple terms, it is a cream/lotion/ointment that helps hydrate your skin. That means the main purpose of a moisturiser is to hydrate your skin.

Wait wait wait!!!

It doesn’t mean it just hydrates skin and does nothing else.

Trust me, you’ll never really know until you start applying it. However, let me give you some idea about what it does to your skin.

Benefits of a moisturiser

  • Apart from hydrating the skin, it protects the skin from environmental stressors.
  • Including it in your daily skincare routine can also result in improving the tone and the texture of the skin.
  • Moisturisers include anti-ageing ingredients in it that make the skin look firmer and tighter.
  • Not to mention, if you apply them over serums, it will help in better absorption of the nutrients and the active ingredients.
  • It also reduces the chances of any skin issues such as acne or pimples as it prevents extreme oiliness and dryness.

When to apply a moisturiser?

Moisturisers have proven to be effective after cleansing your skin properly.

If you have seen the basic skin routine, you must know that once the cleanser has been applied, toner and serums are added to enrich your skin with nutrients and then a moisturiser is applied.

This is because we always go from thinner layers of products to thicker ones.

How is it applied?

The most important step while applying any product to your skin is to have clean hands.

On your clean hands put on some moisturiser and apply it on your face in circular motions until it has been absorbed by the skin appropriately.

Do not forget your under eyes. They need to be hydrated as well.

Recommended Moisturisers

Before introducing the products, I would like to share something very important.

Our skin is different in every season, for me, it’s oily in summers and dry in winters (snow season). Therefore, it is important to change your moisturiser every season.

In our skincare routine, the only thing that must be changed every season is a moisturiser depending upon how your skin reacts to the weather.
