Hello everyone! I hope you are performing well! In today’s post, I will be sharing how I overcame my laziness and performed magnificently enough that I got an appraisal. Let’s improve at work together!

Well, well, well, for those who don’t know I am a salesperson. My job is to sell credit cards to people. However, convincing people to buy something from you, especially credit cards is not easy to talk about.

No matter how good you are at pitching, 97% of the people will not be interested. During the early days, I felt so bad about not meeting my targets and eventually got demotivated and thought of leaving the job.

However, my manager told me something that day and I think that’s one of the most important lessons I have learnt while working.

He agreed when I told him most people do not want it. But he said, 3-4% want it. Our goal is to find them, explain them and earn commissions from them.

So here are some ways to improve work performance:

Focus on important things for better performance

Just like that at any job or in life, it is important to focus on the things that make you feel better.

If I would have not listened to him at that time, I would have left every job that seemed challenging.

Trust me, some things get better with time as long as you are with good people.

Another thing that I have learnt is performance appraisal comments quality of work.

Organise your Schedule

If you’re aware of what you have to do and by what time you have to achieve them, there are more chances of success.

You can create your schedule, mark up deadlines that are convenient for you and put only enough pressure on yourself that you can handle.

As a salesperson, I always divide my shift’s total goal into segments and work to meet each segment’s target.

Plan things ahead to perform well

Now, this is a very important step. If you don’t plan for uncertainties, you are most likely to lack behind.

Therefore, I suggest you establish some plans and keep space for unknown things.

Observe more

You learn more things by observing people. Stay quiet. Listen to what is significant.

Speculate how your seniors do their jobs, this can help you grow and get better at your job.

Learn from everyone. Don’t end your learning just at your training sessions.

Encourage yourself

Sometimes, it’s not a group project. You might have to do certain things alone. And for that, you should be capable enough to push yourself through hard times.

The work environment in the contemporary epoch is fast-paced. If you don’t beat the time, it will beat you.

Keep on moving forward. Don’t Stop. Give your best performance.

Reward Yourself

Honestly, this is the best that you can do to accomplish more and more things.

You should give yourself a reward for pushing your limits, showing improvement in work, and accomplishing your goals. This has two benefits:

Firstly, You’re going to be determined in whatever you are doing.

Secondly, even if you’re feeling sluggish, the reward will remind you not to stop and keep on doing an excellent job.

Get feedback for your performance

If you wanna know where exactly, your hard work is leading you, it is important for you to ask for feedback.

Such feedback can come from your manager or any other senior leader.

However, even if someone tries to criticise you, this is what you can do.

Do what is right.

In the race of getting things done, many people forget about what are they exactly doing.

It is important that you do not compromise your values and do what is right for the majority of the people.

Don’t be selfish in producing results with no credibility or heart in them.

Rest Well

By resting, I don’t imply watching social media or sleeping.

There are tons of ways you can rest your body, mind and heart.

Know your Purpose

Last, but not least, it is very important for you to have a well-defined purpose for doing a particular job.

If the purpose is not clear, you can never perform at your best level.

Your purpose could be anything from financial stability, to emotional stability.

Ever since I started using these tips and tricks at my workplace, the better my performance got. And if I can do it you can too. Good Luck!
